EPQ Presenation write up!

For my EPQ, i wrote my presentation and then i recorded it. however it turned out way too long at first. it reached 16 minutes and about 50 seconds, so then i had to rewrite the entire thing after some feedback before presenting. i rewrote the whole thing and this tie it came out at 12 mintues, this was still too long, i was told after writing the 16 minutes and 50 seconds presentation, that the maxium it could be, was 8 minutes. so i knew what i had to do. i sped my talking up very slightly but not to much so the watcher can still understand me clearly and well and then worded things slightly different. my presentation then came out at 8 minutes and 3 seconds! it was a success, and it was said to be good! so then i played my presentation that i had recorded and it played well and the audio was really good and it was the perfect time. after my presentation was done, i was asked mutilple questions, some including why i chose to do my final piece for the derwent prize, monocrome, in...

Week24 ARTIST RESEARCH - Kate Greenway

Image
ARTIST RESEARCH - Kate Greenway Kate Greenway (17th March 1846- 6th November 1901) was an English Victorian artist known for her children's book illustrations. She was educated in graphic art and design from 1858-1871 at the Finsbury School of Art, the South Kensington School of Art, the Heatherley School of Art and the Slade School of Art. She began her career by designing for the greetings card market.  In 1879 she released her first children's book, Under The Window, which was an instant bestseller and established her reputation. Her depictions of children in imaginary 18th century costumes was incredibly popular in the UK and internationally, sparking the Kate Greenway style. Within a few years her work was imitated in England, Germany and the US. She was aware during her education that her work was very gaudy, partly due to her lack of knowledge of the chromoxylography process. To gain understanding of the process she regularly visited the National Gallery to study the m...

Week 23 Watercolour resists

Image
Here I did 2 watercolour resists, I really love how colourful and vibrant these have both turned out like. I really love the one with the singular black lined drawing on, being me as a pirate when I was younger, due to the colour bursts of the high pigmented watercolour clashing with the black oil pastel, I think it really pops, then the words and small designs I have drawn around it, it gives me a real creative and colourful, nostalgic and child-like / childish feel to the mood and piece, I really love how it turned out and I love the contrasts between each colour and medium in between it. I think its one of my favourite things that I have done in EPQ as well as my cactus abstract charcoal drawing so far!  The other water colour resist i did was of me and my little sister when we were alot younger and wore tinsel around our heads at christmas time, I do like how this one turned out but im not completely sure about the style of it, I think its okay, but yeah, I also slightly...
