Week 23 Watercolour resists

Here I did 2 watercolour resists, I really love how colourful and vibrant these have both turned out like. I really love the one with the singular black lined drawing on, being me as a pirate when I was younger, due to the colour bursts of the high pigmented watercolour clashing with the black oil pastel, I think it really pops, then the words and small designs I have drawn around it, it gives me a real creative and colourful, nostalgic and child-like / childish feel to the mood and piece, I really love how it turned out and I love the contrasts between each colour and medium in between it. I think its one of my favourite things that I have done in EPQ as well as my cactus abstract charcoal drawing so far!

The other water colour resist i did was of me and my little sister when we were alot younger and wore tinsel around our heads at christmas time, I do like how this one turned out but im not completely sure about the style of it, I think its okay, but yeah, I also slightly messed up on my jawline and made it super thick, but I think that it turned out very well as well as the singular drawing too as well!

Here are the primary images / sources that i used for my EPQ, I found these very fun to work with and I felt as if they had plenty of room to experiment with colour!
