Sampling OIL PASTEL



Here I did some sampling, I think that this turned out very well and I really love it,
I used oil pastel for this sampling that I used 2 primary sources while creating these, 1 primary source for each one and for the first one, I did it by observing, I looked at my sister and drew from her in person. And then for the second picture I used this primary source of my little sister in a childhood blanket;


I think that both of these really captured how my sister looks then and now and I think that they both turned out very well and I am happy with them. I really like how the colours that ive used pop really well and I also really like the texture of the oil pastel itself!

Week 13 - Cancelled so INDEPENDENT RESEARCH TRIP TO CARDIFF

 Unfortunately this week and session was cancelled. However I took this time and independently researched into my theme, and went on a trip to Cardiff instead, and took lots of primary sources as Cardiff was a huge part of mine and my sisters childhood, it was so nostalgic, and I took so many photos for primary research etc. I really looked around and as I did, I remembered so many good memories too, taking this independent trip to Cardiff city really helped inspire and inform my current and latest project with more primary sources for childhood and Nostalgia.                                                         About Me - Freya Welch  My name is Freya Welch, I am currently studying Art and Design, Level 3, year 2. My EPQ - Week 5 - Date : 15/OCT/25 - 13/OCT/25

Week 4, The starting and everything that i have done so far on my EPQ.  In week 1 i did many mind-maps, exploring what i could do for my EPQ theme, i did research into different pathways and areas that i could explore for my EPQ, i thought of a range of different things and ideas making sure that i am positive and decided in what i will be doing.  For the second week of my EPQ journey, i began yet more mind-maps and mood-boards, making sure that i can really portray all of my ideas down on to paper, noting it down. i filled the pieces of A3 paper really heavily, making sure to use as much paper as needed / possible as well as getting any ideas i could thinking of at the time down and noted.  On week 3, i took part in a lesson where we covered the entire classroom floor in paper, and some lied down while some did the drawing on the floor, week 3 was inspired by Tony Orrico, we tried his way / technique of drawing, where you lie on the ground and wave your arms around and d...
